Emily VanCamp

Emily Irene VanCamp is a Canadian actress who has been praised for her roles as lead actress in numerous television series as well as her powerhouse performance in films. There is a huge fanbase in American as well as Canadian television. Emily began acting at the age of 12 after she had a visit with her elder sister Katie in one of Katie's movies. Once she discovered her passion for the acting world, Emily enrolled in classes to learn about it and began auditioning. Her first audition was for commercials however, she was eventually the role of a child actor in the Canadian television horror show Are You Scared of Darkness? It was just one scene, without dialogue. When she was 15 years old, she made her breakthrough after she became part of the WB program Glory Days. Even though the show was cancelled after only nine episodes, her performance attracted the attention of Dawson's Creek writer Greg Berlanti who enlisted her on his television show Everwood. Emily was also a ballerina and photographer was recognized by Teen magazine as one the best actresses younger than 20. Emily was listed as the 51st on the Maxim's Hot 100 list of 2014.
