Nadia Comaneci - (born on 12 November 1961 Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej or now Onesti, Romania), Romanian gymnast. The first gymnast to achieve a score of 10 in an Olympic competition. Bela Karolyi later Romanian Gymnastics Coach, came across Comaneci when she was just 6 years old. She participated at the Romanian Junior Championships where she placed 13th. She won in 1970. At her first international event that was a preolympics junior competition that was open to countries of the communist bloc, she took home three gold medals. And in 1973 and 1975, she was crowned all-around Junior Champion. In her first international competition as a senior in 1975 she beat out Russian Lyudmila Turishcheva who was a five-time European champion, winning 4 gold medals as well as one silver. She was the first woman to complete a reverse double salo on the uneven parallel bar when she won the American Cup, New York City 1976. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. She began her career in entertainment in her teens performing as the figure skating duo of their sister Nina Wayne for the travelling entertainment show Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne is a American citizen who was born on September 6 1942, in Chicago, Illinois. Carol began her career in entertainment when she was in her teenage years. She started her career as a figure skater, performing alongside her younger sister Nina Wayne as part of the touring entertainment show called Ice Capades. They featured ice skating shows with theatrical shows.
