Laura Linney, best known for portraying strong, but fragile characters, is one of the most acclaimed American actors of the present. While working as a summer intern in her father's company Laura Linney was captivated by theatre. Then in her time at Brown University she studied acting and also at Juilliard School, after which the career of her choice took off. When she graduated from Brown University in the year 2000, she started her Broadway debut shortly thereafter. After two years of that, her first film was released and the following year, her debut on television. Innumerable appearances in movies, television shows and stage shows since. There were many awards she received throughout her career such as four Primetime Emmy Awards and two Golden Globe Awards. Her nominations include five Tony Awards as well as three Oscar Awards nominations. However, despite her distinctions and awards, stage is where she's at and she is determined to perform on the stage and on screen.
